Choose Your G-LOC Compound
Select the compound that matches how the vehicle will be used. Higher-numbered race compounds generally require more heat and are not intended for normal street driving.
GS-1 — Street
Low-dust, low-noise street compound with good cold response, predictable braking and excellent rotor life. Ambient to 800°F / 426°C. Not recommended for track use.
R6 — Autocross
Strong cold bite and progressive modulation for autocross and low-temperature competition. 0°F to 1000°F+ / 0°C to 537°C+. May create substantial dust and noise; generally not recommended for road-course use.
R8 — Track Day
Versatile entry-level race compound with good initial bite, modulation and fade resistance. 74°F to 1250°F+ / 23°C to 676°C+. Suitable for track days, but not normal daily street use.
R10 — High-Torque Track
Stronger initial bite and higher friction than R8, with smooth release and good rotor life. 118°F to 1475°F+ / 47°C to 801°C.
R12 — Heavy Track Use
High, consistent torque with greater fade resistance than R10. 173°F to 1860°F / 78°C to 1015°C. Slightly more rotor-aggressive than R10.
R14 — Endurance Racing
Developed for endurance racing in lighter, lower-horsepower cars. Solid initial bite and strong fade resistance. 210°F to 1400°F / 98°C to 760°C.
R16 — Extreme Track Use
Very aggressive initial bite, linear torque and excellent high-temperature performance. 255°F to 2000°F / 123°C to 1093°C. Requires substantial heat.
R18 — Maximum-Temperature Racing
Maximum bite and a highly linear, controllable torque curve for serious competition. 610°F to 2100°F+ / 321°C to 1149°C+. Requires very high operating temperature.
Important
Race compounds can generate significant dust and noise. Compound choice depends on vehicle weight, tire grip, brake cooling, driver experience, track layout and session duration.
